Debbie is thrilled to be part of the East Coast Greenway Alliance. She grew up enjoying what is now the Mount Vernon Trail section of the Greenway in Alexandria, Virginia, and loves that she gets to live and work near the American Tobacco Trail section in Durham, North Carolina. She joined the Alliance in 2011 after moving to North Carolina to be closer to family. She earned a certificate in nonprofit management from Duke University in 2016. Debbie is a member of the Durham Community Trail Watch and serves as board treasurer for the all-volunteer nonprofit Durham Bicycle Cooperative. In her free time she makes art and is studying documentary filmmaking, working on a "scrapumentary" inspiring creative reuse.
